“The poet who would have written the epic of our generation is found on a street corner at daybreak. His eyes
yellow, and his veins full of holes, surging and gushing a world full of sorrows. “
“Naked, in an advertisement in the city’s shop windows, his Muse is withering from boredom, they found
her lying on her back, in front of the screen, planted a camera, she will never be alone.”

This month, with great pleasure, we welcome Danae Panagiotopoulou.
Recently we were fortunate enough to see one of her last musical performances on the small stage of “Pirinas.”
What more promising than to see a new group, including Danae and two exceptional pianists, Angelos Angelou and Pantelis Ravdas, at a performance that was like a small explosion, which blew away from us, just for a while, the vulgarity that is pretty much all around us.
Danae belongs to the new, great song writers with intense contemplation and great talent. Everything about her creates a strong sense of a poetic, theatrical character bearing a clear mark of the gift of social, creative contribution.
I would characterize the lyrics of these great poetic compositions as having strong social orientations which, although they take place simultaneously, allow you to experience the music as you see it from your own perspective.

-----------
Danae Panayotopoulou was born in Athens in 1978. She studied literature at the Philosophical School of the Univeristy of Athens and acting at the Embros Theatre. Her professional career in music started in the year 2000
when she began participating in concerts all over Greece.
She has collaborated with great artists such as Miltos Paschalidis, Yiannis Haroulis, whilst in parallel working in the theatre under the direction of Dimitris Kataleifos (Embros Theatre), Konstantinos Arvanitakis (Topos Allou Theatre),
Tassos Rantzos (Municipal Agrinion & Kozani Theatre) and with Sotiris Chantzakis (Ethniko [national] Theatre).
At the end of 2006 Miltos Paschalidis included the Song “O Trelos” (The Crazy One) in his album
“Exoun perasei xronoi deka” (10 years have passed) and a short while later Yiannis Haroulis chose the song
“Feggari” (Moon) as an opening song for his album “Xeimonanthos.”
At the beginning of 2007 her first CD was released with the title “Oikos Antoxhis” (House of Endurance),
followed by a new CD entitled “Homo Logotypus”.
The Crazy One (O Trelos)
The people dance deranged
everyone in their rhythm
to find a companion, a crazy person,
sells himself
If you don’t believe, don’t ask
and if you don’t hear me, don’t look at me
if you can’t imagine fires
don’t play with coal
The world spins quickly
and we all becomes slaves
and a crazy person steps on the brakes
in a hurry to catch up with the world
If you cannot kneel
and if you know everything
you rule your world
but don’t fall to embraces
Don’t tell big lies
because you will believe them
with your neck held high
you will weave a thousand nooses
The world forgets in a moment
and writes stories
the crazy one closes the door
maybe to see the mistakes
If you don’t feel, don’t speak
Quiet, don’t judge
a thousand heads fall
when you are afraid
If you don’t believe don’t ask
and if you don’t hear me, don’t look at me
if you don’t imagine fires
don’t play with coal
Certainty (Sigouria)
Give me a little confidence to have my spoils,
gifts and excuses finished before I even begin
seven moons of acrobatics in horrific embrace
and you think of loneliness, it is to miss you
Give me a little confidence to plant
two bullets in the middlemen, those inside and out
again head down, defeated inside of me the prophet
and you think of loneliness, it is to miss you
Moon (Feggari)
One round the moon and another one life
You stand naked in front of me time makes a crack
I make my fire a caress and hide your wound
which since I can remember locks my body
Two times around the moon my body wants you
From my fingers sharp knives stick out
Don’t be afraid, it’s for me, I’ll burn in my own fire
I’m not asking you to be mine, I just want to see you.
Ten years, ten centuries looking to find solutions
You don’t know me but you know what the hands don’t forget
Some bloody nights pass indifferently
Where the bodies are thirsty but the eyes look elsewhere
Three times I’ll ask you if there was a time
That you were alone in the dark and I was a comfort
Three times I’ll ask you how you can stop the time
when you come at night and look into my eyes
